Winterreise Benjamin Appl -baritone Monday 13th February at 8pm Mentored by Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, German baritone Benjamin Appl has performed with the Berlin Philharmonic, the Akedemie für Alte Musik Berlin and the Staatskapelle Berlin. He was awarded the Audience Prize at Thomas Quasthoff’s Das Lied Competition and has given recitals at the Ravinia Festival in Chicago and at St John’s, Smith Square for Graham Johnson’s Young Songmakers’ Almanac. ‘a highly lyric baritone’ Opernwelt. Joseph Middleton - piano Pembroke College’s resident musician Joseph Middleton is one of the UK’s leading young accompanists. He appears regularly at the Wigmore Hall and in broadcasts for BBC Radio 3. Recent concerts have taken him to the Aix-en-Provence, Aldeburgh, Brighton, Edinburgh, Ravinia Chicago and Toronto Festivals.
